World War II Army veteran Clarence Adelhart’s heroism was honored by opening the St. Louis Cardinals game by throwing out the first pitch. Having served with the Seventh Armored Division in Eroupe during the Battle of Metz and the Battle of the Bulge and surviving it all, Clarence was filled emotions as he reminisced about those moment before taking the field. Just two weeks before his one hundredth birthday being honored by his favorite team was one of the most thrilling moments he’d experienced.
