“My story starts with my older sister introducing her friend Joshua, a marine, to the family over a year ago. He was so cool and down-to-earth that our family instantly grew attached to him. Well, he was deployed about month after we met him, and we sent him off with all our love and prayers. However, some months later, my sister was informed that Joshua had gone missing in action. It hit us all really hard because here was this great guy, who we considered an extended member of the family, walking in and out of our lives so quickly. It was all just so unfair. We missed him like crazy and tried to stay positive, but weeks turned into months and it became really difficult.
One day in October, I found your beautiful website and watched all the videos. I cried every time I saw someone light up when they saw their solider home safe. They were hard to watch at first, and I didn’t know why I kept coming back and torturing myself, but every day I visited to watch and read these touching stories. They made my heart swell with hope. It wasn’t until today that I realized why I may have been directed here all these months, because standing on our front step this afternoon was Joshua!
When my sister told me who was at the door I couldn’t believe it, but there he was! It was so out of the blue and amazing that I didn’t know what to do other than hug him. And, oh, what a sight for sore eyes he was! It’s crazy to finally experience this wonderful feeling of relief. We held back our tears pretty well until my dad gave him this huge bear hug and started crying. Needless to say, we all just lost it. I know now that this site was a sign from above for us to keep faith. Thank you dear God in Heaven for bringing him home, and thank you to everyone at WelcomeHomeBlog.com for everything you do!”
