A heartfelt note left on a Vietnam veteran’s truck has his family looking for a good samaritan. Mike Koma found the letter on his windshield. The mystery person had seen Koma’s Vietnam Veteran stickers in the store parking lot. “Dear Vietnam veteran, thank you so much for your service in the United States Army in Vietnam. You, sir, are a hero in my eyes. Sincerely, Cindy Twigg.” That just made me tear up. Mike went to Vietnam in 1969. His homecoming became a painful memory. When I came home from Vietnam, I flew into the state of Washington, and people were spitting at us and calling us baby killers. Koma’s wife, Mary, started a search using Facebook to find “Cindy Twigg”. Made him feel good, and that’s what I want to see him do, to heal from that war. I’m going to thank her for that. I’m going to ask her how many times she does that. Over 2.7 million Americans served in Vietnam. More than 58,000 were killed in the war.
