Many military parents choose to surprise their kids at school when they return from deployment but this surprise was quite the opposite. As Staff Sergeant Thomas Porter and his wife Bethany arrived at Kindercare Learning Center in Pennsylvania to drop off their son, Jamie, they were met with ribbons and welcome signs. The school had prepared a hero’s sendoff for SSgt. Porter before he leaves for a year to serve in Iraq. In addition to the signs and ribbons, there was cake and the kids even made him a scrapbook to remind of home.
