Sergeant Dustin Pearson just returned home from a year-long deployment to Kuwait to surprise his mom during her pinning ceremony at Rasmussen College’s in Mankato, Minnesota. Sgt. Pearson’s mom, Margaret “Penny” Pearson, said she always wanted to be a nurse. She was disappointed that her son—the one person she wanted to pin her—could not attend her pinning ceremony. Bursting into tears, Penny’s disappointment was long gone when she received the surprise of a lifetime.
