When Army Private First Class Mitchell Kirtley returned from Afghanistan he wanted his homecoming to special for his family. The Dayton Dragons baseball team helped PFC. Kirtley create an amazing surprise for his mom, dad, and little sister, just before their game against the West Michigan Whitecaps.
While his parents had an inkling that something was up, PFC Kirtley’s mother, who’s been battling multiple sclerosis, promised that she would walk to give her son a hug and it was a hug he’ll never forget.
