A US Army soldier from Ohio is looking for her dog, which was given away while she was off training.
Spending the final days of her leave posting signs, Private First Class Katelyn Gallagher searched desperately for her 5-year-old Bloodhound, Buck.
“When I left in May for training, I left him with a family friend, Angelo Sullo, who told me he would care for Buck,” Gallagher said. “I was so excited to get home and get him.”
However, she returned last month to find that Sullo had given the dog away, claiming he was unable to care for Buck.
“He wouldn’t give me any other information so I don’t know who has him,” Katelyn said. “I am not upset with the people who may have him because I am sure they don’t know. But I really want him back.”
Gallagher says there will be no repercussions- she simply wants her dog back.
“He is very, very, sweet,” Gallagher told Fox8. “I got him when he was 9 months old. He is like my son, he is my best friend. I really want him back. This has been very difficult for me.”
Gallagher has filed a report with the Cleveland police, with Sullo now facing charges of petty theft.
Sullo told Fox8 that the issue is a misunderstanding and that he expects to be “vindicated.”
