Michigan National Guard Elainnie Ingram traded what was supposed to be the happiest day of her life to help with the relief of Hurricane Irma. Receiving notice just ten days before her wedding that she would be deploying on her wedding weekend, Elainnie didn’t even consider trying to get out of duty.
“I signed up for this six years ago. So it’s my time to do it, and it just so happened to be the wedding weekend but you can plan another wedding,” she said.
