Fifty-five-year-old Army Veteran Edmund Baines has been on dialysis for two years and needed a kidney so he put advertising signs on his truck in hopes that he’ll find a donor. With the help of social media and FOX 46 Charlotte he came across his perfect match but Edmund lives in North Carolina and Annette the woman willing to donate her kidney, lives all the way in California. So, American Airlines and the Gary Sinise Foundation gifted a flight to the donor and her support person.
Edmund has been receiving support from all over, from another vet who was willing to fly Edmund to California for the transplant, to a woman who lives thirty minutes away willing to donate her kidney if the distance with his current donor is too much of a hindrance.
