With her heart heavy after seeing how Hurricane Harvey impacted the people of Texas, Gina Austin decided to pack up gear and supplies, leave her California home and try to rescue who ever she could. Having served twenty-two years in the Navy, she says her time spent in Texas was like a bad deployment. While she worked with a rescue group doing so much good, Gina saw a lot of evil. Not only did they get shot at, seven state troopers were run over by a car. But the look on the little boy’s face when Gina reunited him with his chihuahua that she rescued made all the difference.
