We featured this video a long, long time ago, but it is so touching that we want to share it again. Here is what Dan had to say:
“My name is LT Daniel Haws and I am a dentist in the US Navy. I was recently deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. I left home with my wife 5 weeks away from having our first kid. After 5 weeks of deployment, my wife gave birth to our daughter. We gave her the middle name of “May” because it was the month we expected that I would return home. Many months later, in the month of May, I began my return home from a safe and successful deployment. A close family friend of ours was able to catch on film the exciting day of my return home to meet my new daughter for the first time. Mixing his footage with some of my own, it’s exciting how the moment builds for my family and I on that special day. This film does a great job of depicting what our troops and families go through on the emotional day of our return home.”
