Thousands of people gathered on Thursday, October 5, to remember a Las Vegas police officer who was killed during the mass shooting near the Mandalay Bay almost a week ago.
Charleston Hartfield, 34, was off duty and attending the concert at the time of the shooting. He was also a member of the Nevada Army National Guard. Uniformed officers took turns at the microphone in Police Memorial Park to share stories to remember Hartfield. As night fell, the park was lit by the candles held by those in attendance as a moment of silence was held in his memory.
