While serving as an Army combat helicopter pilot running supplies in Iraq in 2006, Christine McKoon’s helicopter was shot down. In addition to having to learn how to walk again, Christine came down with meningitis and then she developed psychological and emotional problems. Christine’s anxiety restricted her from leaving her house until she received a service dog. But that dog began to get sick and that’s when Christine says her life pretty much ended because she was confined to her home again. That is until she received Tink from the Utah Malinois Foundation.
