As they waited for their “guest speaker to enter the room, students at Northridge High School in Layton, Utah, leaped out of their seats when they saw a familiar face peeking out from a doorway in their school. Coach and Army National Guard Captain Andrew “Drew” Olson surprised the students on return from his five-month deployment in Afghanistan. Along with teaching social studies, Olson coaches basketball and football at the school. This soldier had no idea that his students cared so much for him and from then on he knew how great his impact on them was.
Good luck to my boys at the Ridge as they open region play tonight!!! #goknights #theridge #ridgecity #nhs #northridgebasketball @KnightsAdmin pic.twitter.com/nauigbGfsg
