While we usually only feature content about homecomings, we wanted to spread the word about this story. Please help Kimberly if you can. Thanks to Ashley B. for the tip:
After Kimberly Vaughn’s Navy SEAL husband was killed in Afghanistan, she kept his memory close by wearing his wedding band. Kimberly lost that ring on Saturday while traveling and has launched a Facebook campaign to help her find it.
Kimberly’s husband, Aaron, was one of 30 men killed in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan on Aug. 6. Kimberly had his silver wedding band, which had her name engraved on it, when he died, The Washington Post reported. She wore the ring on her thumb and said that she was “crushed” when she realized she lost the ring on Saturday while traveling home from Texas.
The widow hopes that spreading the word will help bring the sentimental piece of jewelry back to her.
“I don’t need a ring as a reminder of our love,” she told The Washington Post. “But it meant so much to me, and it is devastating to have it gone.”
