The bronze statue of a little girl and her dog welcoming their Canadian Sailor home is more than a tourist site. Not only does this monument represent the always cherished moment in a military family’s life. Also, the bricks laid around the statue in Victoria’s inner Harbor memorialize those who have fought to protect freedom in the military, particularly the men and women of the Navy.
