Being deployed is not easy when tragedy hits the family. I decided to FB chat with my sister when I pulled into port. She then asked if I was sitting down to tell me news that she was diagnosed with a rare cancer. She sent a red cross message, but we had lost communication at sea. So she never knew if it reached me or if I would be able to come home to comfort her. Well it was a nice to surprise her at a my brother in-law’s Birthday party.
