When 18-year-old Matthew Hohn was called up by his administrator during graduation rehearsal he had no idea what was going on.
In March, his family began planning “Secret Brad Mission” when they found out that Army Specialist Bradley ‘Bubba’ Hohn’s leave had been approved so that he could make it to his little brother’s graduation ceremony.
After three months of planning, one thousand seven hundred dollars on new tickets because he and his wife missed their original fight, and twenty hours traveling from Germany to Arizona, Spc. Hohn thought that he was ready to share a loving reunion with his brother for the first time in over a year. But nothing could prepare him for Matthew’s reaction.
To throw Matthew off, Spc Hohn messaged him the morning before saying that he was going on a mission in Poland. Upset that his brother wasn’t going to make it Matthew didn’t even respond. But once Mathew locked eyes on Bradley, he became so overwhelmed that his only impulse was to run and jump into his brother’s arms, which ended with them both on the floor.
“I sprinted to him and pretty much tackled him for a hug. I really didn’t expect it at all.” Matthew told ABC News.
