It was a very special day for two little girls at the Great Escape in Lake George, NY. Aubrie Chadwick, 4, and Zoe Chadwick, 7, hadn’t seen their father since around Christmas time, but all that was about to change.
As reported by Time Warner Cable News, Staff Sergeant Donald Chadwick has served in the Air Force for six years and has been deployed in Portugal for the past eight months. His wife, Alisha, is in full support of him and is the one who planned this amazing reunion.
“My wife is totally with the military. She loves everything I do and she supports it. And to do this, it’s just awesome.”
Even though they ran into a rough patch, Alisha was determined to make this homecoming happen.
“Our travel arrangements got messed up. His flight got cancelled and we got the last rental car for him to drive from D.C to here,” said Alisha Chadwick.
Staff Sgt. Chadwick will be home for two weeks, and even though it isn’t permanent; his family is thrilled to have him home. Needless to say, the feeling is mutual.
“I’m going to try to spend as much time with my two little girls as I can while I’m still here and give them all the love I can while I’m here,” said Staff. Sgt. Chadwick.
