A 101-year-old World War II veteran traveled to Colorado Springs from New York to commission his grandson at the United States Air Force Academy.
A former US Army Air Force bombardier and pilot, Walter Kloc commissioned 2nd Lieutenant Joseph Kloc, who had recently completed his journey at the USAFA.
The elder Kloc flew from Amherst, New York, to Colorado Springs- no small feat for a man of his age.
Lieutenant Kloc shared coverage of the heartfelt moment, which was posted to the USAFA‘s official Facebook page.
“Probably one of the best days of my life,” he wrote.
