One of the dear moments about graduating is that your loved ones are there to share in the students’ achievements.
For Brittany O’Keefe her special day say was only going to be half as bright because her brother, Airman Devancy Jefferson couldn’t make it, or so she thought.
As Brittany and the rest of her graduating class rehearsed their walk across the stage, she was met with a rush of emotion when she saw him. Standing at the end of the stage Airman Jefferson had his arms stretched out ready to wrap them around his little sister.
“I haven’t seen him in a year and I thought he was going to miss my graduation…and that’s the last thing that I wanted.” Brittany told WGNO.
But Airman Jefferson wasn’t alone. His wife and daughter made the journey to be there as well. This was the first time Brittany got to hold her niece.
