With all that’s going on in the world today, I feel it’s more important than ever to show support for the troops. Coming from a long line of family members who served this great nation, it always gives me pride to display my support for the men and women in uniform.
We were recently looking for a few gifts for our son who proudly served in the 82nd Airborne. I remember how nice it was to find “personal” items that meant so much to him while he was deployed to Iraq. Our son is a fitness buff, and proudly wears his “Army” regalia on a regular basis. This Red Shirt VI Dark T-Shirt is top notch and right in his wheelhouse. Wearing RED, which means Remember Everyone Deployed, on Friday is something more units are allowing, and if yours doesn’t — that’s okay — this shirt is great to wear anytime. The material is nice, the cut is comfortable and the message is spot on. We’re really looking forward to seeing him wear this shirt and showing his continued Army pride and support for many of his friends who are still serving.
Like I said, my son is a fitness guru. He’s always talking about “drink two gallons of water a day.” That one message prompted me to get him the Got Freedom Water bottle. We all know freedom isn’t free, but for the price of this water bottle…its pretty darn close. We really liked that it’s stainless so we know “plastics” won’t leach into the water. The bottle is also lightweight and will fit easily into his gym bag. Great buy — great product.

Finally, we decided on the “Support our Troops” — Infantry Throw Pillow. Our neighbors came over the last night and saw it sitting on the table before being packed up to send to our son. I never thought it would be a great conversation starter, but it was. My neighbor now knows not only that I served, but my son did too. I also found out my neighbor served with the Navy during the Korean War. What a great way to “Support Our Troops” and start conversations. The only downside is — my neighbor tossed it on our couch while we were talking, and now our bulldog thinks it’s his. Looks like we’ll be making an additional order in the near future.
